Slamdot's state-of-the-art servers are located in the SoftLayer datacenter near downtown Dallas, Texas in the Infomart telecom hotel. It's a private, Tier III, N+1 facility that sits on three redundant TXU electrical grids, delivering diverse power to each quadrant of the building, with five on-site 100-ton water chillers.

Connectivity
With 290 Gbps of connectivity to the Internet, SoftLayer runs one of the largest IP backbones in the US. The 29 x 10 Gbps diverse connections are spread across 10 of the leading network providers in the US and, in addition, include multiple public peering links to dozens of additional Internet access networks.
Servers
Our servers are top-notch, production-grade machines that are built to take a beating. Each server has multiple hard drives, at least two processors, and several gigabytes of memory to maximize performance and reliability.
Backups
All of our servers use RAID technology so that customer data is mirrored across multiple drives. We make two full backups every morning. One backup is stored locally on the server, and the other is moved offsite to another datacenter.
Private Network
Our control panel communicates with each server over a completely private network using SSL encryption. It's fast, secure and reliable.
